The Vocational Academy is dedicated to creating a safe environment and culture for all our employees and learners. This means we are not only focused on educating our staff on important safeguarding issues, inlcuding our policies and procedures, but educating all our learners too. We believe that the more we are all aware of important safeguarding topics, the quicker we will be able to identify signs that may be considered a safeguarding concern. A prompt response to safeguarding issues could make all the difference.

We have decided to create this course to identify what safeguarding topics we think you would benefit from being more informed of. This includes a definition of the topic, who is usually at risk, and how to identify someone who may be suffering. A lot of these safeguarding topics are prevalent in England, and some of them especially in our local areas. We have used well-informed sources to obtain the information in order to provide you with the best information possible.

We also wanted to ensure you were provided with all the resources you may need if you feel there is a safeguarding issue you (or someone you know) may be experiencing that needs to be discussed or reported. Please ensure you check the materials tab on any safegaurding topic to access these resources snd contacts.

We have also given you information regarding The Vocational Academy’s safeguarding policy, along with information about how to report any issues directly to us.

If there is a safeguarding topic that does not appear on this course that you perhaps would like to know more about, please contact us on safeguarding@thevocationalacademy.co.uk and we will look to include it as soon as we can.
