Welcome to the 24 month apprenticeship standard for Carpentry and Joinery at level 2.
This platform is intended solely to assist your studies across the 24 month period. As you will no doubt be aware, carpentry is a very practical career, supplemented by theory knowledge, such as health and safety, timber types, treatments, uses, regulation and more.
This platform focuses mostly on the theory elements of your programme, with video lectures on practical skills, giving you the opportunity to practice, both on the job and during site visits and practical workshops at our centre.
As you work through this platform, you will not only cover the knowledge, skills and behaviours, you will be able to build your portfolio of evidence using Aptem/OneFile.
Therefore, please be aware that this platform is intended to supplement your learning and provide you with the resources needed to complete, download and upload to Aptem/OneFile to complete your portfolio.
This platform automatically tracks your progress via the progress bar. It also tracks and monitors every time you login, what you complete and how long you spend in learning. This is all intended to make your life easier when recording your OTJ – off the job training, which must average out at 6 hours per week.
Please work with your tutor through this platform, arrange site visits and build the evidence you need for your portfolio.
We hope you enjoy your studies with us!
Oh, and make sure you have signed up to the mandatory apprentice mailing list, which gives you additional training, both optional and mandatory that in most cases, count towards your OTJ. It also gives you the opportunity to gain additional qualifications to boost your CV through short courses.
